Easton residents to walk for cancer research – Wicked Local Easton

Easton residents Joseph Stowe, Debbie Lawrence, Lu-Ann Besse and Mark Vinocoor will walk in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on Sept. 24.

The money raised by the walk goes to the Jimmy Fund for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The walk includes four routes of various lengths and start times:

n Marathon Walk, 26.2 miles from Hopkinton: rolling start from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m.

n Half Marathon Walk, 13.1 miles from Wellesley: rolling start from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

n 10K Walk, 6.2 miles from Newton: rolling start from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

n 5K Walk, 3.1 miles from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute: starting at 1:45 p.m. This route will include many patients and their families.

Refueling stations will be placed along the course. All routes conclude at the Copley Square Finish Line, where participants can celebrate with food, live entertainment and a speaking program.

Walkers must raise a minimum of $300, except for walkers 12 years old and younger, who must raise $100.
